Custom Event Dates

Custom event dates let you store and use information about dates that are important to your participants. For example, you may want to schedule a survey three days after discharge from a hospital, or a week before surgery.

Creating Custom Event Dates

To set up a custom event date for your project:

  1. Go to the “Projects” screen and select the “Project Settings” tab.
  2. Select “Custom Event Dates.”
  3. Give the event a name and click Add.

Click the trash icon next to an event date to delete it. Deleting event dates will not affect previously collected survey data.

Setting Event Dates

There are several ways to set an event date for a participant, so you can choose the way that works best for your project.

Setting Event Dates in Invitations

When you invite a participant, you can include their event date (if known) in the CSV data for the participant on the invitations screen.

  1. Create a column for the event date in your CSV file.
  2. Enter the event date for any participants where it’s known.

Setting Event Dates in the Participant Viewer

You can update the participant’s date on the participant viewer. Select a participant and then select the “Event Dates” tab. Enter the date and save the participant.

Setting Event Dates in Surveys

On survey questions using the date answer format, you can choose to save the participant’s answer in a custom event date.
